\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJames Thatcher<\/span><\/strong> a commencé sa carrière professionnelle à l'âge de 16 ans quand il a joué et a étudié à Mexico avec son oncle, Gerald Thatcher, ancien corniste principal de l'Orchestre symphonique national du Mexique. <\/span><\/font><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJames Thatcher a été membre de nombreux orchestres mais il est surtout un joueur de studio. COLLAGE DE JAMES HORNER : L’INVITATION AU VOYAGE.<\/a>\n<\/h4>\n

\r\n\tJames Horner avait abandonné la carrière universitaire par déception…cette déception était celle de l’esthétique du temps…l’esthétique du temps dans les années 70 était celle de l’avant-garde, incarnée par l’atonalité obligatoire. Domination idéologique en France, elle avait également réussi à dominer le milieu universitaire, protégé, aux Etats-Unis. La domination intellectuelle devait subvertir l’émotion, souvent considérée comme triviale et vulgaire. Lorsque James Horner a pu faire interpréter sa pièce orchestrale en 1978 par l’orchestre d’Indianapolis, dans une salle à moitié pleine, il a ressenti le vide absolu entre le créateur et le public. JAMES HORNER PARLE DE COLLAGE<\/a>\n<\/h4>\n

\r\n\t\r\n\t\tAprès un court extrait de 30 secondes publié il y a quelques jours, Mercury Classics continue la campagne promotionnelle de l'album Collage – The Last work en publiant une vidéo assez exceptionnelle, puisque nous y voyons James Horner parler de Collage lors de son enregistrement le 30 mai 2015.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tCe sont à notre connaissance les derniers images du Maestro.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t« Vous avez un noyau de quatre cors d’harmonie mais aussi ces différents ensembles dans l’orchestre que j’ai intégrés dans une sorte de tapisserie.  Je suppose que j’aurais pu l’appeler « Tapisserie », mais j’y pensais plus comme un collage de différentes couleurs.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\r\n\tCela fait maintenant un an que nous attendions l'annonce de la publication de Collage. Nous venons juste d'avoir l'information que cette pièce sera finalement édité au format disque cet automne. Nous ne pouvons en révéler plus car la maison de disques préfère naturellement garder toutes les informations pour son annonce officielle dans une quinzaine de jours. Mais sachez que cet album réservera quelques surprises ! \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCollage a été enregistré par Simon Rhodes le 30 mais 2015 avec l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Londres, les quatres cornistes (Richard Watkins, David Pyatt, John Ryan and James Thatcher), le chef d'orchestre Jaime Martin et le<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\r\n\tCrédit photo : © Etienne Walter\r\n\t \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tAprès le choc émotionnel ressenti lors de la découverte de Pas de deux, après les jours magiques passés à Liverpool au mois de novembre 2014 en compagnie de James Horner, Hakon et Mari Samuelsen, il nous était difficile de résister à l'envie d'assister à la première mondiale de Collage, le concerto pour quatre cors.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tNous avons donc pris la direction de Londres à la fin du mois de mars 2015, enthousiastes et curieux de découvrir cette nouvelle œuvre de concert. En novembre, soit cinq mois avant la première, James Horner nous avait confié ne pas avoir<\/p><\/div><\/div>

COLLAGE – LA PREMIERE MONDIALE A LONDRES<\/a>\n<\/h4>\n

\r\n\t\r\nP { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }\t\r\n\t\r\n\t\tLa première mondiale de Collage, le nouveau concerto pour quatre cors et orchestre composé par James Horner, a eu lieu ce vendredi 27 mars 2015 au Royal Festival Hall de Londres.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tLe matin avait lieu la dernière répétition en présence du compositeur. Comme à Liverpool à l'occasion de Pas de Deux nous avons pu voir James Horner donner ses dernières observations aux musiciens et au chef d'orchestre Jaime Martin. L'après-midi, nous avons eu l'honneur d'interroger le corniste David Pyatt sur la création de Collage, sur la place du cor dans la musique de James Horner et sur<\/p><\/div><\/div>

COLLAGE DE JAMES HORNER : J-10<\/a>\n<\/h4>\n

\r\n\t\r\n\t\tDans 10 jours aura lieu l'avant-première mondiale de la dernière œuvre de concert composée par James Horner. Son nom est connu depuis quelques jours : Collage: A Concerto for Four Horns and Orchestra.\r\n\t\tLe compositeur fait régulièrement des parallèles entre sa musique et la peinture. Ce nom renvoie peut-être à la technique du collage qui consiste à combiner des éléments séparés et de nature différente. Nous pensons notamment aux célèbres collages de Henri Matisse.\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\t \r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\t \r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tCette œuvre a été co-commissionné par le Houston Symphony et l'International Horn Society. NOUVELLE OEUVRE DE CONCERT POUR JAMES HORNER !<\/a>\n<\/h4>\n

\r\n\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\tL'Orchestre Philharmonique de Londres vient d'annoncer plusieurs œuvres commandées pour la saison 2014-2015, dont la première mondiale d'une œuvre de concert "pour quatre cors" écrite par James Horner. C'est le 27 Mars 2015 que cette nouvelle pièce sera présenté entre Roméo et Juliette de Tchaïkovski et Shéhérazade de Rimski-Korsakov. Cette pièce de concert suivra donc chronologiquement celle que nous avions déjà évoquée il y a quelques semaines dans nos pages : un double concerto pour violon et violoncelle, prévu pour novembre à Liverpool. \r\n\t\t\t \r\n\t\t\r\n\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\tL'un des quatre joueurs de cor, James Thatcher, est un collaborateur fréquent de James Horner. \r\n\tLes quatre saisons.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tNe vous est-il jamais arrivé d'associer un album à une saison car, lors de sa découverte, il a accompagné merveilleusement une période de l'année, ou parce que les couleurs qui s'en dégagent vous rappellent tout particulièrement la froideur d'une soirée d'hiver ou l'éclat d'une journée d'été ?\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tJames Horner possède la capacité, en jouant avec les multiples couleurs qui constituent sa palette musicale, d'attribuer à ses compositions une teinte saisonnière spécifique.
