Depuis 2009, la maison de disques contribue consid&eacute;rablement &agrave; l&#39;enrichissement de nos collections de James Horner, avec de multiples et r&eacute;centes &eacute;ditions, la derni&egrave;re en date &eacute;tant <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discographie\/clear-and-present-danger\">Danger Imm&eacute;diat<\/a>. Le propri&eacute;taire, Doug Fake, voulait d&eacute;velopper sa propre &eacute;dition de bandes originales, afin de pallier &agrave; la frustration n&eacute;e de l&#39;absence de quelques &eacute;ditions de grandes musiques de films. A cette &eacute;poque, les maisons sp&eacute;cialis&eacute;es dans les bandes originales de films n&#39;&eacute;taient pas nombreuses. Il n&#39;y avait probablement que Var&egrave;se Sarabande et Entr&#39;Acte (devenu plus tard Souther Cross et Label X). Doug voulait commencer fort et avait travaill&eacute; en 1985 avec MGM pour sortir le score de Basil Poledouris pour <strong>Red Dawn<\/strong>. Un film relativement nouveau, des proc&eacute;d&eacute;s novateurs et sans doute la premi&egrave;re bande originale en &eacute;dition limit&eacute;e.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/images\/interviews\/intrada\/intrada1.jpg\" style=\"height: 300px; width: 400px; border-width: 2px; border-style: solid; margin: 10px; float: left;\" \/><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Quel est le r&ocirc;le de chacun au sein d&#39;Intrada ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Doug est le pr&eacute;sident et ing&eacute;nieur principal, Jeff Johnson g&egrave;re le magasin, Regina est l&#39;assistante de production, qui assiste Doug et moi-m&ecirc;me dans l&#39;&eacute;laboration des projets. Joe est notre directeur artistique. De mon c&ocirc;t&eacute;, je g&egrave;re le d&eacute;veloppement des affaires et le marketing. J&#39;entretiens essentiellement les relations avec les ayant-droits et apporte les projets. Doug et Joe font en sorte de les r&eacute;aliser.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Expliquez-nous les diff&eacute;rents labels que vous d&eacute;veloppez : MAF, Signature Edition&hellip;<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">MAF correspond &agrave; nos &eacute;ditions ordinaires, pour les titres non limit&eacute;s qui sont pl&eacute;biscit&eacute;s (comme <strong>Patton<\/strong>) ou pour les nouveaux films. Les Special Collection sont une s&eacute;rie limit&eacute;e pour les scores &agrave; grand int&eacute;r&ecirc;t et les Signature Editions sont des tirages limit&eacute;s pour les plus petits projets, les titres plus confidentiels.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">De mani&egrave;re g&eacute;n&eacute;rale, comment se d&eacute;roule la cr&eacute;ation d&#39;un album ? Et en particulier en ce qui concerne James Horner.<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Les albums de James Horner ne sont pas beaucoup diff&eacute;rents des autres. Il y a en g&eacute;n&eacute;ral deux &eacute;tapes majeures : obtenir les droits et trouver les masters des enregistrements. Il n&#39;y a rien de plus frustrant que d&#39;obtenir les droits et de d&eacute;couvrir que les masters sont manquants. Ou inversement de trouver ces &eacute;l&eacute;ments et de se rendre compte que personne ne sait qui d&eacute;tient les droits. Ou pire, que l&#39;ayant droit n&#39;est pas int&eacute;ress&eacute;. Admettons que tout se passe bien et que ces deux &eacute;tapes soient satisfaites, c&#39;est n&#39;est alors plus qu&#39;une question de restauration, de transfert sur un format num&eacute;rique, d&#39;assemblage de la musique sur album, de mastering et d&#39;approbation de la part du compositeur de cet album. Habituellement avec James Horner, on s&eacute;quence l&#39;album et on lui envoie pour son approbation. G&eacute;n&eacute;ralement, il approuve ce qu&#39;on lui envoie.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Est-ce important que le compositeur approuve l&#39;album ?<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/images\/interviews\/intrada\/intrada4.jpg\" style=\"height: 300px; width: 400px; border-width: 2px; border-style: solid; margin: 10px; float: right;\" \/><\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Non, pas n&eacute;cessairement. Dans la plupart des cas, nous pourrions simplement retirer le compositeur de la boucle, mais nous avons toujours proc&eacute;d&eacute; ainsi. Nous aimons qu&#39;ils soient impliqu&eacute;s.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Est-ce que les compositeurs interviennent dans le processus ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Certains plus que d&#39;autres. James Horner aime bien revoir le packaging et s&#39;assurer que les cr&eacute;dits couvrent bien ce qu&#39;il d&eacute;sire.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Comment sont d&eacute;cid&eacute;es les sorties d&#39;albums ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">C&#39;est en fonction de la complexit&eacute; des masters (l&#39;assemblage d&#39;un album &agrave; partir d&#39;un DAT deux pistes est plus facile qu&#39;un s&eacute;quenceur 24 pistes qui n&eacute;cessite un mixage) et aussi du temps n&eacute;cessaire pour obtenir les approbations. Certains conc&eacute;dants sont plus rapides que d&#39;autres. Donc tout ceci doit entrer en ligne de compte quand nous programmons une sortie.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">A quel point est-il compliqu&eacute; d&#39;avoir acc&egrave;s aux enregistrements des anciennes BO ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Cela d&eacute;pend de l&#39;ayant droit. La plupart des studios contribuent pas mal &agrave; ces &eacute;ditions, mais d&#39;autres ont plus de personnel que d&#39;autres. Donc dans certains cas, on bataille avec des entit&eacute;s, dont l&#39;objectif principal se situe au niveau des films actuels, afin qu&#39;ils int&egrave;grent ces projets comme ils peuvent. Mais Joe sait ce qu&#39;on aime. Je suis assez partisan de conserver le visuel des affiches originales pour nos couvertures.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Est-ce que la d&eacute;marche pour avoir acc&egrave;s aux images d&#39;un film pour les couvertures est chose ais&eacute;e ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Oui, les licences que nous avons incluent g&eacute;n&eacute;ralement les images que nous pouvons utiliser dans nos albums.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">R&eacute;cemment vous avez multipli&eacute; les sorties de musiques tr&egrave;s recherch&eacute;es de James Horner, rien qu&#39;en 2009 par exemple. Comme cela a-t-il pu &ecirc;tre possible ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">C&#39;est parfois l&#39;association de licences qui arrivent au bon moment. James Horner a toujours &eacute;t&eacute; l&#39;un de mes pr&eacute;f&eacute;r&eacute;s et je souhaite vraiment que le maximum de son r&eacute;pertoire pass&eacute; soit &eacute;dit&eacute;.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Auriez-vous quelques anecdotes &agrave; partager, dans le cadre de la confection d&#39;un ou de plusieurs albums de James Horner ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Vous savez, elles sont toutes assez simples. Bien que pour <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discographie\/something-wicked-this-way-comes\">Something Wicked This Way Comes<\/a> ce fut un petit d&eacute;fi, car la musique avait &eacute;t&eacute; enregistr&eacute;e sur un format num&eacute;rique obsol&egrave;te con&ccedil;u par 3M. Je dirais <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discographie\/something-wicked-this-way-comes\">Something Wicked This Way Comes<\/a> et <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discographie\/natty-gann\">Journey Of Natty Gann<\/a>. Ces deux-l&agrave; formaient mon Saint-Graal. &Eacute;galement <strong>Retour Vers Le Futur<\/strong>. Je ne peux pas en choisir qu&#39;une seule !<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Avec le recul, quelles sont vos impressions sur toutes ces ann&eacute;es consacr&eacute;es &agrave; la musique de film ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">C&#39;est &eacute;norm&eacute;ment de travail ! Mais je suis content, car la plupart des ayant-droits sont plus favorables avec le temps et ont tr&egrave;s envie de travailler avec nous pour que des bandes-originales sortent. Sans la coop&eacute;ration de l&#39;AFM (American Federation of Musicians &ndash; NDT) et des studios, nous ne pourrions simplement pas faire ce m&eacute;tier.<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Quels sont les scores que vous aimeriez sortir prochainement ?<\/span><\/strong>\n\t<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Difficile de r&eacute;pondre, de par mon statut, car je connais les 30-40 prochaines sorties. Les albums qui sortent aujourd&#39;hui remontent loin dans le planning et si je r&eacute;pondais, je r&eacute;v&eacute;lerais nos projets en cours, ce que je ne peux pas faire &agrave; ce stade. Cependant, j&#39;aimerais vraiment sortir <strong>Volunteers<\/strong>. Ces albums sont pour la plupart r&eacute;alisables. Il s&#39;agit tout simplement de s&#39;y mettre.
