M&ecirc;me si au cours de sa filmographie, James Horner a fr&eacute;quemment crois&eacute; la th&eacute;matique de la mort, elle &eacute;tait g&eacute;n&eacute;ralement trait&eacute;e en quelques sc&egrave;nes o&ugrave; le compositeur se devait d&#39;aller &agrave; l&#39;essentiel. Un exemple r&eacute;cent pourrait &ecirc;tre la minute entre 2:30 et 3:40 du morceau <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Ben&rsquo;s Death<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> dans <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=10381\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>The Amazing <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/images\/albums\/cover200\/southpaw_200.jpg\" style=\"margin: 5px 10px; float: right; width: 200px; height: 200px;box-shadow: 1px 1px 3px rgb(85, 85, 85);\" \/>Spider-Man<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (2012), qui accompagne le deuil de Peter Parker suite &agrave; la disparition de son oncle. Pour que cette th&eacute;matique embrasse le film en entier il faut plut&ocirc;t se tourner vers des projets assez rares finalement, comme <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>The Stone Boy<\/b><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (1984), <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=9946\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>House of Cards<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (1991), <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=10093\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>To Gillian<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (1996) et donc <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discography\/southpaw\/\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>Southpaw<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (2015), o&ugrave; &agrave; chaque fois James Horner a compos&eacute; une musique sensible qui explore les tr&eacute;fonds de l&#39;esprit. <\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Le personnage de <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discography\/southpaw\/\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>Southpaw<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">,<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> interpr&eacute;t&eacute; par Jake Gyllenhaal, s&#39;&eacute;gare suite au d&eacute;c&egrave;s de sa femme. Les riffs de guitare expriment les tiraillements de son &acirc;me meurtrie en pleine reconstruction voyageant entre la col&egrave;re, l&#39;incompr&eacute;hension, et le d&eacute;sespoir. A travers plusieurs morceaux dont notamment <\/font><em><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Dream Crusher<\/font><\/em><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">,<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> son entraineur Tick (Forest Whitaker) d&eacute;clenchera sa renaissance &agrave; travers ses r&eacute;flexions sur le sens d&#39;un &eacute;v&eacute;nement tragique, sur la trajectoire prise par notre monde, et notre impuissance face au bras aveugle et destructeur du destin.<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><font style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> <\/font><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Le fait que cette musique arrive quelques jours apr&egrave;s la disparition de James Horner lui conf&egrave;re un caract&egrave;re insaisissable et imp&eacute;n&eacute;trable, tellement elle r&eacute;pondait et r&eacute;pond toujours aux sentiments de perte et d&#39;incompr&eacute;hension qui nous traversent depuis un an. Nous avions besoin et nous aurons toujours besoin d&#39;&eacute;couter <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Dream Crusher<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">.<\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Finalement, depuis ce 22 juin 2015, l&#39;&eacute;coute de la musique de James Horner est diff&eacute;rente. Elle s&#39;accompagne d&#39;une pens&eacute;e pour le Maestro, comme &agrave; chaque fois que nous entendons ou voyons voler un avion dans le ciel. <\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Et concernant <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=22407\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>The 33<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">&nbsp;? <\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Un peu &agrave; l&#39;image de <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=10389\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>For Greater Glory<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (2012), le film n&#39;a pas eu de distribution internationale importante, &eacute;l&eacute;ment qui pouvait nous faire douter sur sa qualit&eacute;. Pourquoi James Horner avait-il alors choisi ce projet&nbsp;? En effet deux sc&egrave;nes sont particuli&egrave;rement fortes en &eacute;motions: l&#39;annonce que les mineurs sont encore en vie (<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>We Are All Well in the Refuge, The 33<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">) et leur retour &agrave; la surface (<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Celebrations<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">). Ces deux moments sont deux tr&egrave;s belles expressions de la joie humaine. D&#39;autres sc&egrave;nes comme l&#39;arriv&eacute;e des foreuses, la cr&eacute;ation du camp de l&#39;espoir v&eacute;hiculent aussi &agrave; un degr&eacute; moindre ce sentiment. Cette partition compos&eacute;e avant <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>Southpaw<\/b><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> est arriv&eacute; &agrave; nos oreilles six mois apr&egrave;s la disparition du compositeur. Par cons&eacute;quent &agrave; cette &eacute;poque, lors des premi&egrave;res &eacute;coutes, malgr&eacute; le s&eacute;duisant et morriconien <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Celebrations<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> qui impose sa beaut&eacute; d&egrave;s la premi&egrave;re &eacute;coute, le vibrant et doux <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Hope is Love<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> qui ressemble &agrave; un adieu de James Horner, il fut difficile de s&#39;investir totalement dans cette partition et de ressentir toutes les &eacute;motions notamment de joie qu&#39;elle v&eacute;hicule. <\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">Puis au fil du temps l&#39;all&eacute;gresse essentiellement v&eacute;hicul&eacute;e par le th&egrave;me principal de <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=22407\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>The 33<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> s&#39;est impos&eacute;e et ne dispara&icirc;t pas. Malgr&eacute; une impression de r&eacute;p&eacute;titivit&eacute; de sa syntaxe, ce th&egrave;me n&#39;est jamais interpr&eacute;t&eacute;e deux fois de la m&ecirc;me fa&ccedil;on gr&acirc;ce au <\/font><\/span><\/span><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/images\/collaborations\/musiciens\/hinnigan.jpg\" style=\"height: 150px; width: 150px; margin: 5px 10px; float: right; border-width: 1px; border-style: solid;box-shadow: 1px 1px 3px #555;\" \/><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">talent incroyable de <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/collaborations-english\/tony-hinnigan\/\">Tony Hinnigan<\/a> et au g&eacute;nie de James Horner. Une &eacute;coute attentive r&eacute;v&egrave;le des variations de timbres, notes, rythmes &agrave; chaque phrase musicale qui font ainsi dispara&icirc;tre toutes redondances.<\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">A l&#39;image du film qui alterne entre sc&egrave;nes &agrave; 700 m&egrave;tres sous terre et sous le soleil &eacute;clatant du Chili, entre sc&egrave;nes de d&eacute;sespoir et sc&egrave;nes de joie, la musique de James Horner pour <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=22407\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>The 33<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> oscille entre obscurit&eacute; et lumi&egrave;re, un peu comme la vie qui nous r&eacute;serve &agrave; chacun des hauts et des bas. Cette vie qui nous s&eacute;pare, nous r&eacute;concilie, qui nous transporte lorsque nous nous dressons, dans laquelle nous nous r&eacute;alisons, qui nous relie les uns aux autres, et nous apporte finalement de la joie.<\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\">Au fil des &eacute;coutes d&#39;autres &eacute;l&eacute;ments mettant en valeur la vie humaine se d&eacute;tachent&nbsp;: <\/span><\/font><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">&#8211; <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Aiming To Miss<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> subtile m&eacute;lange de piano, harpe, synth&eacute;tiseur, guitare et cordes qui accompagne l&#39;id&eacute;e lumineuse des ing&eacute;nieurs d&#39;apprendre de leurs erreurs pour trouver la bonne direction qui va leur permettre d&#39;atteindre les mineurs. Comme dans <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=10182\">A Beautiful Mind<\/a> <\/b><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">(2001), le piano rend palpable l&#39;intelligence des hommes.<\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/avatar_the_33_light.jpg\" style=\"margin: 5px 10px; float: left; width: 400px; height: 391px;\" \/>&#8211; Le magnifique, rafraichissant et hypnotique <i>F&eacute;nix<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> qui nous entraine vers une issue favorable du r&eacute;cit, et se conclut sur un magnifique &eacute;lan de quena, instrument qui incarne la fraternit&eacute; des mineurs. Ainsi dans la vibrante introduction de <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Always Brothers<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">, la fl&ucirc;te de <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/collaborations-english\/tony-hinnigan\/\">Tony Hinnigan<\/a> marque la r&eacute;conciliation des hommes apr&egrave;s un conflit. Ils se regroupent et s&#39;enlacent pour ne former qu&#39;un. Image qui nous renvoie &agrave; l&#39;int&eacute;gration de Jake au sein du peuple Na&#39;vi, &eacute;v&eacute;nement que James Horner avait &eacute;galement choisi d&#39;illuminer avec l&#39;aide de son ami instrumentiste. A ce sujet le multi-color&eacute; <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>First Ascent<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> est un morceau qui d&eacute;coule d&#39;<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=10359\">Avatar<\/a> <\/b><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">(2009) et qu&#39;il est facile d&#39;imaginer comme annonciateur des s&eacute;quelles du film de James Cameron que nous n&#39;entendrons jamais&hellip;<\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">&#8211; Le motif percussif de deux notes qui parcourt l&#39;ensemble de la partition se r&eacute;v&egrave;le &ecirc;tre une repr&eacute;sentation du battement du coeur humain. Lors des premi&egrave;res secondes de <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>The Atacama Desert<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> il est accompagn&eacute; d&#39;une fl&ucirc;te de pan qui symbolise le souffle. Coeur, respiration&hellip; les moteurs de la vie. Dans l&#39;angoissant<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i> To<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>the Heart of The Mountain<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> qui suit la longue descente des ouvriers au fond de la mine, le motif quitte sa composante organique et devient m&eacute;tallique tels les coups de pioche dans la roche qui apparaissent &agrave; l&#39;&eacute;cran. A la fin de <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Aiming To Miss<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">, le motif revient sous une forme tr&egrave;s lente, les mineurs sont dans un &eacute;tat d&#39;an&eacute;mie avanc&eacute;e, leur rythme cardiaque ralentit, la vie s&#39;&eacute;teint.<\/font><\/span><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%;\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">&#8211; Les deux morceaux <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Empenadas for Dario<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> et <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Family Is All We Have<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> qui ouvrent et concluent la partition constituent une parenth&egrave;se &eacute;th&eacute;r&eacute;e bas&eacute;e autour de la guitare de <a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/collaborations-english\/georges-doering\/\">George Doering<\/a>. Elle souligne la tendresse d&#39;une s&oelig;ur pour son fr&egrave;re et leur r&eacute;conciliation suite &agrave; cette &eacute;preuve. D&#39;ailleurs quand ils se croisent &agrave; nouveau, nous retrouvons dans les synth&eacute;tiseurs de <\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Family Is All We Have<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (0:50 &ndash; 1:02) une phrase entendue dans <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/com\/?page_id=10131\"><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><b>Deep Impact<\/b><\/font><\/a><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"> (1998), quand le personnage incarn&eacute; par T&eacute;a Leoni retrouve son p&egrave;re pour se r&eacute;concilier avec lui (<\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\"><i>Drawing Straws<\/i><\/font><font face=\"Arial, sans-serif\">, 8:06 &ndash; 8:36).
