Domination id&eacute;ologique en France, elle avait &eacute;galement r&eacute;ussi &agrave; dominer le milieu universitaire, prot&eacute;g&eacute;, aux Etats-Unis. La domination intellectuelle devait subvertir l&rsquo;&eacute;motion, souvent consid&eacute;r&eacute;e comme triviale et vulgaire. Lorsque James Horner a pu faire interpr&eacute;ter sa pi&egrave;ce orchestrale en 1978 par l&rsquo;orchestre d&rsquo;Indianapolis, dans une salle &agrave; moiti&eacute; pleine, il a ressenti le vide absolu entre le cr&eacute;ateur et le public. (Lire <a href=\"https:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/fr\/fond-memories-episode-1-1953-1978-une-education-musicale\/\"><strong>Fond Memories<\/strong> &#8211; Episode 1<\/a>) Ce vide lui &eacute;tait insupportable et il fallait le combler. La d&eacute;couverte du mariage image \/ musique a alors &eacute;t&eacute; une r&eacute;v&eacute;lation, une lib&eacute;ration.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Il aura cependant fallu une trentaine d&rsquo;ann&eacute;es pour James Horner pour revenir &agrave; la musique pure, sans images, sans temp-track, sans minutage, sans mixage avec les sons, sans rejet ou mutilation de la partition. <a href=\"https:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/discography\/pas-de-deux\/\"><strong>Pas de Deux<\/strong><\/a> &eacute;tait un t&eacute;moignage &eacute;clatant de sa volont&eacute; de communiquer avec des interpr&egrave;tes, le public du concert et celui du disque. Le langage &eacute;tait le sien. L&rsquo;aboutissement de ces d&eacute;cennies pass&eacute;es &agrave; peaufiner une voix personnelle dans une industrie souvent impitoyable avec les artistes. <strong>Collage<\/strong> est le deuxi&egrave;me chapitre d&rsquo;un voyage qui aurait d&ucirc; continuer encore longtemps&hellip; l&rsquo;arr&ecirc;t fut brutal, inattendu&hellip; Pour s&eacute;cher nos larmes, perdons nous dans la musique, celle d&rsquo;un compositeur qui veut donner pl&eacute;nitude et beaut&eacute; &agrave; ses interpr&egrave;tes et &agrave; son public. Ecoutons donc attentivement la partition compos&eacute;e pour 4 cors et orchestre intitul&eacute;e <strong>Collage<\/strong>&hellip;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"imgcollabo\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/david-pyatt-collage_light.jpg\" \/>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">James Horner compose pour ses 4 mousquetaires et propose un contrepoint avec l&rsquo;orchestre. Si le but du concerto est de pr&eacute;senter la physique et l&rsquo;acoustique du cor, multipli&eacute; par 4, par de v&eacute;ritables virtuoses, il peut sembler int&eacute;ressant au connaisseur de l&rsquo;&oelig;uvre du compositeur que l&rsquo;&eacute;coute de ce concerto pour 4 cors et orchestre puisse se concevoir, se ressentir comme un voyage a&eacute;rien, construit par palier. C&rsquo;est exactement l&rsquo;impression qui peut venir &agrave; son &eacute;coute. Les cors et l&rsquo;orchestre semblent &ecirc;tre toujours dans un mouvement ascendant et ne jamais chercher &agrave; rejoindre la terre. Le voyage abstrait du compositeur nous fait visiter des lieux imaginaires et nous fait ressentir une recherche de la s&eacute;r&eacute;nit&eacute; et du sublime au milieu des &eacute;l&eacute;ments, comme pourrait l&rsquo;&eacute;voquer une peinture de Caspar David Friedrich.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">D&egrave;s les premi&egrave;res notes, ce th&egrave;me ascendant du cor puis des cors, quatre en tout, recherchent les cimes. Apr&egrave;s l&rsquo;introduction, nous trouvons la s&eacute;r&eacute;nit&eacute; et la stabilit&eacute; des cordes, chatoyantes, dans une palette de couleurs brillantes du James Horner qui a exp&eacute;riment&eacute; les sonorit&eacute;s des meilleurs musiciens de Londres ou de Los Angeles depuis 30 ans&hellip;Les textures sont celles qui brillent de mille feux depuis, disons, les ann&eacute;es 90, raffin&eacute;es ensuite dans les ann&eacute;es 2000. L&rsquo;orchestre nous pr&eacute;pare &agrave; commencer ce voyage&hellip; Un voyage abstrait o&ugrave; nous sommes pris par les couleurs musicales, emport&eacute; par tout l&rsquo;orchestre, avec le soutien du quatuor.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/jameshorner-filmmusic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/horner_martin_collage.jpg\" style=\"margin: 5px 10px; float: left; width: 300px; height: 300px;\" \/><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Aller loin, toujours plus loin &hellip; l&rsquo;orchestre cherche une destination, un but, se repose un moment, laisse les cors accompagner une deuxi&egrave;me partie o&ugrave; les vents puis les cordes font un pas de c&ocirc;t&eacute;, les cors explorent leurs lignes m&eacute;lodiques, de nouvelles inflexions avant d&rsquo;entamer la fanfare ponctu&eacute;e par les pianos. Cette fanfare des cors, famili&egrave;re aux oreilles de ceux qui connaissent le James Horner des ann&eacute;es 80, ponctue chaque mouvement. Les cordes repartent explorer et approfondir une ligne &eacute;motionnelle, un sillon. A 3&rsquo;44 moment du sublime pour les cordes&hellip;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Retour des cors pour la troisi&egrave;me partie, nouveau voyage, nouvelle direction : l&rsquo;orchestre recherche &agrave; nouveau une nouvelle destination. La musique cherche plus haut encore, les cors cherchent &agrave; s&rsquo;abstraire de l&rsquo;attraction terrestre, toujours vers les cimes, le mouvement est toujours ascendant, semble &ecirc;tre port&eacute; par la physique a&eacute;rienne, les vents, les masses de chaleur ou de froid, pour retrouver enfin un &eacute;quilibre. Chaque voyage, vous le constaterez, est ponctu&eacute; par la fanfare, affirm&eacute;e &agrave; chaque fois avec plus de puissance.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Puis la quatri&egrave;me partie bifurque vers une nouvelle direction, explore &agrave; nouveau, h&eacute;site, recherche, o&ugrave; aller ? Les textures l&eacute;g&egrave;res des vents reviennent, les cors fouillent, le hautbois chante une &eacute;l&eacute;gie qui semble annoncer le pr&eacute;lude d&rsquo;une apoth&eacute;ose, les cors lui succ&egrave;dent et nous font anticiper le moment du sublime, pause avec clarinette, hautbois et flute&hellip;.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">5&egrave;me partie, reprise du th&egrave;me avec variations, avec piano, mouvement ascendant des cordes, toujours, ponctuations des vents, choral des cuivres, la fanfare &agrave; nouveau, cette fois v&eacute;ritablement majestueuse. Arrive alors le moment peut &ecirc;tre le plus excitant, un rythme marqu&eacute; o&ugrave; l&rsquo;orchestre semble bouillir et vouloir se lib&eacute;rer au milieu de la tourmente, en pleine temp&ecirc;te, les &eacute;clairs z&egrave;brent le ciel, le tonnerre gronde, le voyageur veut d&eacute;sesp&eacute;r&eacute;ment retrouver la lumi&egrave;re et quitter les t&eacute;n&egrave;bres !<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">La partie 6 marque le retour &agrave; la s&eacute;r&eacute;nit&eacute; du voyageur, le cor le ram&egrave;ne doucement dans le sillage &eacute;motionnel et solaire, enfin les cuivres entonnent la fanfare pour la derni&egrave;re fois, c&rsquo;est elle qui emporte l&rsquo;orchestre vers sa destination ultime, enrichie des ponctuations des cordes tubulaires. Le final permet aux cors de se l&acirc;cher avec force avec l&rsquo;orchestre et cl&ocirc;turer ce voyage qui pourrait, si l&rsquo;orchestre ne s&rsquo;arr&ecirc;tait pas tout d&rsquo;un coup, continuer comme un flot d&rsquo;&eacute;nergie et d&rsquo;&eacute;motions.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">La musique, con&ccedil;ue comme un voyage abstrait de couleurs, est pour le compositeur comme une rivi&egrave;re en mouvement, fluctuante, acc&eacute;l&eacute;r&eacute;e puis calm&eacute;e, en mouvement &agrave; nouveau, vers un rivage inconnu. Dans cette conception abstraite du voyage, qui peut imm&eacute;diatement &eacute;voquer des images ou des &eacute;motions &agrave; l&rsquo;auditeur, ce dernier sent une filiation avec la tradition picturale ou romantique du po&egrave;me symphonique. Sur des sujets que nous rapprochons volontairement, alors que James Horner n&rsquo;impose aucun sujet &agrave; son public, si ce n&rsquo;est celui qui viendrait &agrave; l&rsquo;imagination de chacun, nous pensons &agrave; des &oelig;uvres plus r&eacute;centes (compos&eacute;es au XX&egrave;me si&egrave;cle) comme <strong>Airborne Symphony<\/strong> de Marc Blitzstein ou <strong>Eagles<\/strong> de Ned Rorem, qui &eacute;voquaient chacune &agrave; leur mani&egrave;re une po&eacute;sie des cieux. Comme ce fut le cas avec <strong>Flight<\/strong> (cette fois avec un sujet a&eacute;rien en son c&oelig;ur), James Horner traduit en musique la passion qui fut la sienne de s&rsquo;affranchir de l&rsquo;apesanteur, d&rsquo;atteindre des moments de sublimes &eacute;motionnels. Moments de gr&acirc;ce et de pl&eacute;nitude qu&rsquo;il ressentait au plus profond de lui-m&ecirc;me, et qui rendent sa musique si humaine et si touchante.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:
