Edward M. Zwick (born October 8, 1952 in Chicago) is an American filmmaker and film producer.

In 1989 he had his first success with Glory, an epic depicting the commitment of blacks in the Civil War, a film for which Denzel Washington won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
Edward Zwick’s works then included Legends of the Fall (1994) with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, Courage Under Fire (1996), The Siege (1998) starring Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis, The Last Samurai (2003) with Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe, Blood Diamond (2006) starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou, and Defiance (2009) with Daniel Craig.
