Vadim Perelman est un réalisateur et producteur russo-américain né en 1963 à Kiev (Ukraine).
Il a étudié à la prestigieuse université de Ryerson penadant deux ans avant de créer sa propre maison de production à Toronto. (Canned films)
Arrivé en californie il début dans la réalisation en 2003 avec House of Sand and Fog. Le film obtient 3 nominations aux oscars. Il est à l'origine du scénario dans lequel il a intégré sa propre expérience d'immigrant.
Son deuxième film La vie devant ses yeux (2006) (The Life Before Her Eyes) a été financé par le studio indépendant 2929 Productions et met en scène Uma Thurman et Evan Rachel Wood. Il est basé sur le livre du même nom de Laura Kasischkle.
