Dans une interview pour le site Collider.com, Marc Webb, le réalisateur de The Amazing Spiderman, évoque la bande originale du film.
A 8'50 : "I just heard the James Horner's first cue for the movie, which is spectacular. It has this really rousing theme, which I'd really hoped to achieve. I wanted to find a composer who understood both grandeur and intimacy and James is just a genious at that and I'm really relying on that score to provide that. (…) I really wanted to create a score that felt flashed out and massive and huge but also intimate small and connect particularly Peter Parker and Wen and I felt the best way to render that was with the score."
"Je viens d'entendre le premier morceau de James Horner pour le film, et c'est spectaculaire. Il y a ce thème très entraînant que j'avais espéré obtenir. Je voulais trouver un compositeur qui saisisse la grandeur et l'intimisme et pour ça, James est juste génial. Et je compte vraiment sur le score pour apporter grandeur et intimisme. Je voulais créer un score qui soit véloce, massif et énorme, mais également simple et intimiste et qui fasse la liaison entre Peter Parker et Wen, et la meilleure façon d'y parvenir à mon sens, c'était de le faire avec le score."
