Richard Wayne Penniman (né le 5 décembre 1932) est un chanteur, pianiste, guitariste et compositeur américain.
A la fin des années cinquante, il fut un des pionniers du rock and roll avec Chuck Berry notamment.
Il est l'interprète de quelques-uns des plus grands classiques du Rock'n'roll, dont Long Tall Sally, Good Golly Miss Molly, Rip It Up, Lucille et Tutti Frutti, reprise plusieurs fois, par Elvis Presley notamment.
