DATES ANNOUNCED FOR HORNER’S DOUBLE CONCERTO

According to an article in the Liverpool Echo, the world premiere double concerto for violin and cello composed by James Horner will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014.
 
UPDATE: The performances of James Horner's Double Concerto will now take place on 13 and 14 November.
 
 
This event will mark the beginning of the 175th season of the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the tickets sales of which will start July 7.
 
The concert will take place at the Philharmonic Hall, which will reopen for the occasion after five months of renovation. It will be performed by Mari and Hakon Samuelsen. The orchestra will be conducted by Vasily Petrenko (pictural).
 
As a reminder, the other new concert work for four horns commissioned by the London Philharmonic Orchestra will be performed on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
