JAMES HORNER – THE CLASSICS, THE SONY CLASSICAL TRIBUTE ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED IN AUGUST!

In February we announced the upcoming release of a tribute album at Sony Classical. The news was leaked via videos posted on social networks by Chinese-American cellist Tina Guo where she performed Cocoon and Avatar.
Today still no official announcement but new information from a Facebook post by British composer Richard Harvey who participated in the development.
We can see him in picture with Simon Rhodes, the faithful engineer of the sound of James Horner (on the left) and the trumpet player David Elton (center) who recorded the solo for an arrangement of Appolo 13. We also learn that Field of Dreams will be on the program with Craig Ogden on guitar.

Tell us in the comments if you are eager to listen to this album.

  1. What a major coincidence! I’m hoping that it will be released on James Horner’s birthday, which oddly enough is my own birthday! This is fantastic news!!

  2. Wonderful news. That would be very special to mark James’s birthdate – and Zoe’s too. Can’t wait to hear these new arrangements. Pamela.

  3. Wow! I have listen the one excerpt wich is online on amazon.de. As a very long James Horner fan since the 80ths I count the days for this grea tribute album with ambitios performances.
    A joy! André from Germany
