I found out about this not 7 hours ago and I thought it was odd that a different person would be scoring a movie “Based” on the themes and suites that James Horner already wrote down but was never able to give to Antoine due to his sudden passing in June. I was hoping, that when the movie came out, Antoine would have a different conductor but he would also use the music James Horner had already wrote before he died.
I am so glad Antoine Fuqua the director picked someone close to James to do this job. I can’t imagine how Simon must be feeling as he’s working. Horrible is an understatemnet
