The charismatic violin and cello duo Mari and Hakon Samuelsen has announced us via Mercury Classics that the first album of their exclusive long-term recording partnership recently entered into with the record company will be James Horner's double concerto.
Entitled Pas de deux, the album is scheduled for release next Spring 2015.
Commissioned for Mari and Hakon to expand the repertoire for violin and cello duo, the piece will be premiered and recorded with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Vasily Petrenko.

This is very good news for those who will not be attending the two concerts in November 2014 (see our previous article on this subject).
