2024 marks the 35th anniversary of several long-standing favorite Horner scores, such as Glory, Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, In Country, Dad and of course Field of Dreams. Over the last three years, Glory, Dad and Field of Dreams have been gifted expanded album presentations courtesy La-La Land Records and Quartet.
Arguably the most unique score from James Horner that year, Field of Dreams has now been adapted from its unconventional mix of synthesizer, big band, light rock and pop elements, panpipes, guitar and solo piano and newly arranged for a full symphony orchestra. It remains to be seen how much of the essence of the original instrumental choices are preserved in this new approach, but the music will nevertheless retain its emotional power.
This summer, audiences can experience the world debut on July 19th and 20th in both Vancouver, Canada with Julian Pellicano conducting the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for two nights at the Orpheum Theatre, and one evening in San Diego, USA with Nicholas Bucleading the San Diego Symphony at The Rady Shell in Jacobs Park.
